Gabe. Male. 19 years old. FIlm enthusiast. Pop culture database. I'm also a man who tries to be witty and worries more than anyone else you know. Probably. That's not a statistical fact or anything.

I am the son of Abed Nadir and Annie Edison. Man of faith, morals and lists. Man of many laughs. I guess I just like liking things. That includes shallow-but-kind-of-thoughtful crap like Big Brother and football.

This blog was built to disappoint and captivate you.

On the Manhattan bridgeCianfrance gave each actor separate directions.  To Michelle, he said, “whatever you do, don’t tell Ryan what’s on your mind; [to Ryan] Michelle has a secret and you have to get it out of her.”

An hour later, Cianfrance remembers “my producers are freaking out because we’re wasting film. And Michelle is hard as nails, she’s not going to give it up to him, and Ryan gets so desperate and frustrated that he climbs up on the fence of the Manhattan Bridge. There’s no stunt double, there’s no safety net, we have no insurance for that kind of thing, and, thankfully, Michelle tells him and he comes down.”

I was holding it together by a string and a paper clip in the fall and winter. I didn’t know if I could keep it all together… You console yourself by saying it’s all a deepening process. But it’s wired. After the first year, the pain is less intense; it’s less immediate. But the magical thinking goes away too. And that’s a whole new reckoning. But every time I really miss him and wonder where he’s gone, I just look at Matilda.
